Sagra Musicale Malatestiana - dall'inizio insieme a Glauco Cosmi - 59° edizione

This year is the 60th Anniversary of the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana, one of the most ancient events of Italy.  As a matter of fact, its birth dates back to the summer of 1950 when Carlo Alberto Cappelli, supervisor of Bologna’s Teatro Comunale in those days, was charged by the Tourist Bureau in order to design and organize a series of symphonic concerts with the aim of extending Rimini’s tourist season.

Since then, the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana has hosted the most prestigious conductors, soloists and orchestras firmament of international music and therefore, considering both numbers and its work performed about the training of the public, handed over to a wide territorial community perhaps one of the most precious cultural and civic heritages as well as a prestigious cultural event, among the most long-lived in Italy.

The Sagra Musicale Malatestiana is pursuing from many years an articulation of programming, ranging from symphonic music, to jazz and to baroque music. Percuotere la mente, the BWV-Bach concerts series and the Sunday Concerts series are the thematic sections through which has taken shape a wide range of proposals.
